Something special

So I’m getting a change to do something special and you can be a part of it, too. As many of you know, I have lots of darling little nieces along with some dashing nephews that make me a very lucky auntie. One of them, in particular, is on our minds very often. Emma, daughter of my little sister, Terri, and her dh, Tyler, has Fanconi anemia. It’s an extremely rare genetic disorder involving bone marrow failure as well as extreme cancer risks among many other things. It’s so rare that pretty much all the research funding is raised by the parents. Terri and a good friend of hers with her own little FA darling, Wesley, have started a fundraising site that will sell cute t-shirts Terri designed (using Emma’s & Wesley’s hand prints), candles that Kristen (Wesley’s mom) is making along with some of my stuff. I hope that you’ll go on over and take a look and see if anything strikes your fancy. There will be things added regularly so please come back and check on it as time goes by, too. http://fightingforfa.blogspot.com/

One of the other neat things about this research is that it doesn’t just help people with FA, which would be really great all on its own. The understanding brought by this research can seriously help cancer sufferers along with other issues. I hope you’ll consider taking a peek. Be sure to notice the opening picture of Emma & Wesley together. If that doesn’t make you smile, there’s something wrong with your face. :-)
